In reply to Betty Marsters. Betty, you nailed it! And by the way, you are one of the hardest working retired pastor's wives I know. You continue to rebuild, repair, restore, and raise up those who are struggling. I guess you never really retire from the calling God has on your life. Thank you for being that trusted sister, comrade, sometimes mother-figure, and friend to me. God has used you and Rick to help rebuild and restore Paul and me, and countless others. You must write an article for me! You have such wisdom and love for PWs.

Being a Pastor’s wife is indeed a calling. Many of us married our hubbies before they were anointed by God to be a Pastor. Many of us didn’t ask to be a Pastor’s wife but as you say Meredith, we must commit to being women of the Word. God will, and has, equipped Pastor’s wives to grow in their role. One step in front of the other, one prayer after another and our heavenly Father will use a Pastor’s wife mightily to reach hearts for His Kingdom. As you say, like never before we must commit to this role and work alongside our Father, roll up our sleeves and allow God to use each of us. This world desperately needs the Lord. Even as a “retired” Pastor’s wife (as I am) this does not exclude us from doing all we can to help hearts that are hurting and that are in need. One day Christ will say to us, “The war is over Children. It’s time to go Home.” but until that day we must not give up on rebuilding, repairing, restoring and raising up those who are struggling.. We must never give up or give in.

I agree whole heartedly that the powerful tool of the word and prayer are the only two things that will sustain and carry us through the times we now live in.
“But his (her) delight is in the law of Lord, and in his law doth he (she) meditates day and night.”
“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That bringeth forth his fruit in his season; His leaf also shall not wither; And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
