In reply to Sheïda Meyer. I listened to a teaching by Dr. Caroline Leaf. She shared that when we dwell on mistreatments and delay forgiveness, those memories get embedded in the brain and makes it difficult to let the offence go. That's why God tells us not to let the sun go down on our wrath.

Great Blog! It truly takes prayer & intentional obedience to God in order to forgive those we feel have unfairly put us (or our husband) in such a situation. Holy Spirit help us!

Amen sister! How I know this struggle...it is definitely an act of the will. As I obeyed God in forgiving others, my feelings came into alignment little by little (in some cases feeling are very very stubborn! ). My constant prayer is to forgive quickly, because the more I think about it and stay in a ‘victim’ role, the more the hurt, the tougher it gets to forgive. Thank you for sharing this post, I have learned more about the history of slaves in US. Praise God for His freedom that no man can take away from us. We are free to live, forgive and to love.
